Women to Face #17 Dominican (Calif.) in NAIA 1st Round

This afternoon the NAIA Women's Division II Tournament Selection
Committee came out with their 32-team national tournament bracket.
Eastern Oregon (NAIA #16) was selected as the #4 seed in the 2nd
bracket. They will face the #5 seed Dominican University of
California at 9:15 pm CST on Thursday, March 11.
The Eastern Oregon/Dominican winner will more than likely face the nation's #1
team, Hastings (Neb.), in the second round. Hastings (28-3) faces
Warner Southern (Fla.) (20-12) in their opening round match-up.
The NAIA Women's Division II uses a four-bracket system, with eight
teams in each bracket. The winner of the Eastern
Oregon/Dominican game will face the #1 team, so it is safe to say
that Eastern was seeded No. 16 in the 32-team field.
The Penguins were 28-8 on the season and lost in the finals of the
California Pacific Conference tournament to Holy Names,
65-45. That loss broke a string of 16 straight wins.
Warner Pacific (20-12) was placed in the 3rd bracket as the #7 seed.
The Lady Knights will face #2 seed Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.).
