LA GRANDE, Ore. - On
the day of their opening first-round playoff game, the Eastern Oregon
women's basketball team ended the 2003-04 season in 16th place in the
final NAIA Division II coaches poll.
Decisive
victories over Western Baptist (77-59) and Concordia (69-49) only
helped the Mountaineers move one spot up on the poll.
The next date on the
Eastern Oregon "watch calendar" will be March 3. That
is the day when the seedings and bracket will be released for the NAIA
Women's Division II National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
But before the
Mountaineers can starting thinking of Sioux City, they must take care
of business in the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs, beginning
tonight.
In tonight's
first-round match-up, the 8th-seded Albertson College Coyotes and the
No. 1-seed Mountaineers will begin at 7 PM at Quinn Coliseum.
The game can be heard locally on KEOL 91.7 FM or on the internet at www.eou.edu/webcast
with Mike Safford, Jr., bring you the play-by-play action.
As always, live stats
will be available by linking your computer browser to www.eou.edu/livestats/wbx/xlive.htm.
