honored as CCC Player of the Week

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon's Christie
Weaver has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of
the Week for the games played February 8-14. This is Weaver's
first-ever collegiate Player of the Week honor.
Weaver assisted the Mountaineers in
clinching their second CCC regular-season title in the past three
years and their first-ever trip to the NAIA Women's Division II
National Tournament, March 10-16 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Eastern clinched the title with
Friday's 62-55 victory over Oregon Tech. In that game, Weaver
scored 11 points and hauled in 3 rebounds in 20 minutes.
On Saturday, Eastern Oregon dominated
Southern Oregon, 84-49, for their first win in Ashland in 15
years. Weaver led all scorers with 18 points and
Christie is currently second in the
Conference in 3-point field goal shooting percentage at 42.2% (27-64)
and seventh in overall field goal shooting at 49.7% (77-155).
Eastern Oregon will finish out the
regular-season with weekend Western Baptist (Friday) and Concordia
(Saturday).
The first-round of the Cascade
Collegiate Conference playoffs will begin for the women on Tuesday,
February 24. Eastern Oregon's opponent is still yet to be
determined, but game time is set for 7 pm at Quinn Coliseum.
