Mountaineers crush Raiders 82-49 for 14th straight win

ASHLAND, Ore. – The Mountaineers got 18
points from Candice Davis and 17 points from Christie Weaver,
as Eastern Oregon (21-2, 15-1 CCC) took advantage of 30 Southern
Oregon turnovers in a 84-49 victory at McNeal Pavilion this evening.
The win was the first time in 15 years
that an EOU team has won at McNeal Pavilion and ties the school record for
consecutive wins at 14. The women have won their last 11 games
away from Quinn Coliseum.
Eastern Oregon held the Raiders to 27%
on the evening, while shooting 55% from the field themselves.
The 35-point loss was SOU's worst at
home since 1978.
Senior guard Tricia Haddock
chipped in with a season-high 12 assists and 6 steals.
Eastern Oregon broke open a 36-19
halftime lead with 48 second-half points.
The Mountaineers will return home next
weekend to finish out the regular season with games against Western
Baptist on Friday and Concordia on Saturday. Eastern Oregon will
honor senior athletes before the game Saturday.
The Mountaineers will begin the Cascade
Collegiate Conference playoffs on Tuesday, February 24 with the No. 8
seed visiting for a 7 pm tip-off.
