LA GRANDE, Ore. - It
only took eight straight wins and 15 out of their first 17 game, but
the Eastern Oregon University women's team finally has crack the NAIA
Division II Top-25 in 23rd spot.
The program was last
ranked in the NAIA's Top-25 poll in the final poll of 2001-02 in the
316 spot. That team finished 20-5 and ended the season with a
loss to Albertson in the Cascade Conference semifinals.
The 2001-02 team had a
program-record 14-game win streak that set the pace to a 18-2 start to
the season.
Eastern Oregon will
put their brand new ranking to the test against Concordia University
(4-18, 1-9 CCC) tonight in Portland. Game time is set for 5:30
pm.
The Mountaineers will
host Warner Pacific and Cascade over the weekend.
Warner Pacific (13-9,
7-3 CCC) will travel down I-5 tonight to face Northwest Christian
before making the trip to La Grande on Friday.
Cascade (1-18, 1-9 CCC),
a team Eastern Oregon has already defeated twice this season, will
look for the hat-trick on Saturday.
All game time are
scheduled for 5:30 tip-offs and live stats will be available for all
home games at www.eou.edu/athletics.
