Defense keys Mountaineer's

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Eastern Oregon got a
double-double from Jamie Jo Cant while holding the Geoducks of
Evergreen State College to just 18 first-half points, as the
Mountaineers won their 8th straight game and 12th out of their last
13, 63-53.
Despite shooting just 44%, the Eastern
defense held the Geoducks to 29% shooting for the game.
Christie Weaver led all
Mountaineers with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. She also chipped
in with 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
The only other Mountaineer scoring in
double-figures was Michelle Kinley, who had 11 points along
with 3 rebounds off the bench.
Tricia Haddock continues to
others scoring chances as she had 10 assists along with 3 steals.
The Geoducks' were led by the 15 points
of Kristen Zompetti and 14 rebounds of Jenny Olsen.
Eastern will end their three-game road
trip with a Tuesday date with Concordia University in Portland.
Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
