Nelson Named to All-Tournament team

ATHERTON, Calif. - Seniors Tricia
Haddock and Cory Nelson were two of eleven women honored
this weekend as they were named to the All-Tournament team at the Lady
Oaks Invitational tournament.
Haddock, the Mountaineer point guard
from Parma, Idaho, averaged 16.5 points and 8 assists in the two
games, including a team-high 19 points in the Friday night win over UC-Santa
Cruz. A game that the Mountaineers won by 15, but were down by
18 points with just 16 minutes left in regulation and by as many as 20
points in the game.
Nelson, a 5-10 forward from Homedale,
Idaho, averaged 11.5 points for the weekend, but it was her defense
that placed Nelson on the all-tournament team. Nelson, had the
team-high 5 steals in the Santa Cruz game, and committed just two
turnovers in 53 minutes on the floor.
Eastern Oregon and Dominican University
finished the tourney with perfect 2-0 records.
The all-tournament team was selected by
a vote of the six head coaches of the participating teams: Menlo,
Dominican (Calif.), Eastern Oregon, Pacific (Ore.), UC-Santa Cruz, and
Westminster (Utah).
