GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon University volleyball head
coach Ryan Platt has announced the signing of outside hitter Jennifer
Albrecht to a Mountaineer Letter of Intent to play volleyball
beginning in the Fall of 2004.
Albrecht
is the first-ever volleyball player to sign a Letter of Intent at
Eastern Oregon University.
"Jennifer comes from a great
family, community, and volleyball program; and will fit in very well
with our team chemistry, said Platt.
Albrecht,
a four-year letter winner at Dufur (Ore.) High School has twice been
named 2nd Team All-State in volleyball, as well as a 1st team
selection All-Big Sky Conference.
"Very athletic, sound fundamental
volleyball skills, and mentally strong, Jennifer, comes from a very
well coached high school volleyball program," stated Platt.
Last
season, Albrecht and her Dufur teammates concluded their season with a
3rd place finish at the OSAA State Volleyball Tournament; losing in
the semifinals to eventual state champion Days Creek.
Albrecht
is a three-time Dairy Farmers of Oregon Scholar-Athlete award winner,
as well as a Dufur honor roll student.
