teams advance to CCC playoffs |

The Mountaineer
spikers will make their annual trek to southern Oregon this weekend to
face Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech in Cascade Conference
play.
The CCC standings are
as interesting as any in the past few years, as we are just four
week's from post-season play and not one school has clinched a playoff
berth.
Parity has reared it's
ugly head, as in year's past, perennial powerhouses like Concordia and
Southern Oregon would have easily clinched a playoff spot by this time
of the season. But with 3 1/2 games separating first through
seventh, almost anything can happen with seven games to go for
Southern Oregon and nine games for Eastern Oregon.
The Mountaineers will
look to rebound after a dismal performance against Albertson on the
7th of October. Eastern was swept off the Quinn Coliseum home
hardwood in three straight; 20-30, 24-30, 22-30.
Eastern will face the
18th-ranked Southern Oregon Raiders on Friday night in Ashland.
The last time these
two teams met, Southern, then ranked #12 in the nation, manhandled EOU
in La Grande, 30-14, 30-13, 30-15.
On Saturday, the
Mountaineers will head over the Cascade Range into Klamath Falls to
face Oregon Tech.
Tech won the first
meeting of the year in La Grande; 30-16, 30-24, 30-19.
Both matches will
