LA GRANDE - For a place in which they
had not won since 2000, the Northwest College Eagle felt pretty lucky
to escape from La Grande with a hard-fought, five-game victory over a
much improved Eastern Oregon University Mountaineer squad; 30-27,
28-30, 26-30, 30-21, 15-13.
Eastern led the match two games to one
after three, but hitting errors led Northwest back into the match
winning the fourth to even the match and go into a fifth and final
game.
In game five, Northwest jumped out to a
5-2 led, but the Mountaineers fought back to even the score at 8-8 and
13-13, but a kill by the Eagle's Emily Marquez and a fortunate hit

Jenkin were topin digs with 12 and 11, respectively.
