His lecture, titled “A Meme of One: The UFCK Family,” explores issues such as living our lives in public forums, privacy, and how the Internet helps the discourse of fictional narrative through portraits of the members of the online community ufck.org. The portraits are part of Sell’s larger artistic investigation into fictional and real selves and how the Internet enables users to fictionalize themselves in a public manner. The 2011-2012 portrait project was supported in part through Eastern Oregon University’s faculty scholars program.
