Regional High School Art Exhibition

The Eastern Oregon Regional High School Art Exhibit is to be held at Eastern Oregon University’s Nightingale Gallery from March 07-18th, 2008. The EOU Art Department faculty will be jurying the exhibition and awarding several honors including scholarship funds to one high school senior whose work demonstrates potential for advanced study in the visual arts. We encourage your seniors to submit their best work. Eligibility is limited to high school students attending schools within the ten county region of eastern Oregon.

In the downloadable PDF link above you will find submission forms, feel free to make copies if necessary. Please make sure all information is complete and that the labels are attached securely to the back of the submitted works.  The EOU gallery director has scheduled two dates for the delivery of artwork; they will be Friday, February 29th from 3pm to 7pm and Monday, March 3rd from 11am to 5pm.  If these dates/times are inconvenient please contact him prior to February 28 so that you can make other arrangements.  Work must be delivered to the Nightingale Gallery by 5pm on March 3th; no late submissions will be accepted. Students may deliver work themselves, but we suggest that you collect all work to be submitted by your school and deliver it in one grouping. All work submitted must be ready for hanging and/or presentation.  2D works should be at a minimum matted and have a suitable hanging device attached. Art not ready for display will not be included in the exhibit. The show will not be juried for inclusion, but due to space limitations the EOU Art faculty will decide if all works are to be exhibited.

The opening reception is on March 7th from 6-8PM in the Nightingale Gallery.  All student artists, their instructors and families are encouraged to attend.  Awards will be announced at 6:30pm that evening.

Artwork may be picked up after the exhibits conclusion from 3pm-7pm March 19th and 11am-4pm March 20, 2008.  Work not picked up by these dates will be discarded.

Please get the word out about this exciting opportunity and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Cory W. Peeke at (541) 962-3584 or email cpeeke@eou.edu.

The EOU Art Department looks forward to this show every year. It is an exciting showcase for our up-and-coming regional tallent.
