I have experienced much in my relatively short life span that has been hard, cruel and left me bitter.  My interaction with art is as much an act of self-healing as it is an act of engaging with ideas, which are very real within my own experience.

My current work is based on my military experience, my beliefs and opinions about the military. I have been looking at the role that I played while enlisted and the role that I now fill as a disabled veteran. I am not advocating pro or anti war sentiment but I do have mixed feelings about the current conflict. I am also working with the idea of the media and the mass desensitization that occurred at the very beginning of the Iraq war and the current lack of press coverage. I am also interested in the physiological and psychological effects on service members and veterans as well as loss of life. I am also looking at the disposability of service members within the military structure; as well as the subjection to being involved in politically and economically driven deployments regardless of personal beliefs.

I believe strongly enough about these ideas that I should share them through my work about my experiences and perspectives. I feel that through the process of molding a medium into something, to set before others, that I can connect with my fellow human inhabitants. Showing a different perspective and at the very least raise questions to a conscious level. I hope to successfully relate these ideas by engaging my viewers with this work.
