Don and Zola Dunbar, of Portland have been quiet yet strong supporters of EOU for many
years. With a combined 68-year career in public education, the Dunbars have experienced the
influence of many EOU graduates in classrooms and school administration across the state.
Knowing firsthand the positive impact of scholarships, the Dunbars established an endowed
award through the EOU Foundation to assist students studying to become elementary school
teachers. Their enthusiasm, advocacy, support and generous giving is inspiring and has made
a significant difference in many lives. As model teachers, parents and professionals, they are
wonderful examples of EOU alumni.
