APRIL 2008

4/9/08 President's Reception in Baker City, OR

Eastern Oregon University President Dixie Lund will host a reception for all friends and interested students in Baker City on Wednesday, April 9. The reception, hosted at the Geiser Grand Hotel and sponsored by the Leo Adler Foundation, will be held in the Queen City Center room within the Geiser Grand from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. President Lund will provide remarks and a University update, and staff from Admissions, Financial Aid, Alumni Programs and the Baker Regional Center will be in attendance to work with prospective students, alumni and community members. A delicious assortment of heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided. All friends, supporters, alumni and interested students are welcome to attend.

4/13/08 EOU Chamber Choir Concert and Reception in Portland, OR

Dear Alumni,

The EOU Chamber Choir is heading to Portland on Sunday April 13 for our annual collegiate choral festival at George Fox University. In addition to the festival, the Chamber Choir will be performing at several area high schools as well as with Derrick McDuffey & Chosen Generation. Please join us on April 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Life Change Christian Center, 3635 North Williams Ave. Portland, OR 97227.

Almost every EOU choir alumnus has benefited from Mr. McDuffey in some way – what better opportunity to get back together, reconnect and celebrate than with music? The concert is free of charge and Mike Frazier and I would love to see you there.

5/17/08 Second Annual Rollin Schimmel Football Scrimmage in Pendleton, OR

Please join us as we honor Rollin Schimmel, an EOU alum and NAIA hall-of-famer who dedicated his life to the advancement of amateur athletics, at the Second Annual Rollin Schimmel Spring Football game. The event is sponsored by the EOU Alumni Association and EOU Athletics. Saturday, May 17, 1:00 PM at the Pendleton Round-up grounds. Admission by donation to the Athletics Operations Fund. RSVP to alumni@eou.edu no later than May 12. We look forward to seeing you there! 

5/20/08 President's Reception in Joseph, OR

Eastern Oregon University President Dixie Lund will host a reception in Joseph for all friends and interested students on Tuesday, May 20. The reception is being sponsored by the Oregon Agriculture Foundation and will be held from 6– 8 p.m. at the Outlaw Restaurant, 108 North Main Street in Joseph. President Lund will provide remarks and a University update, and staff from Admissions, Financial Aid and Alumni Programs will be in attendance to work with prospective students, alumni and community members. All friends, supporters, alumni and interested students are welcome to attend.

Alumni Reunion at PGE Park, Portland

The annual alumni reunion at PGE Park with the Portland Beavers is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 15. Your Alumni Association Board is hard at work putting together a program of activities that you won't want to miss! Check back here for more information.

Homecoming & Octoberfest are scheduled for Oct 18 & 19 this year and your Alumni Association is hoping to showcase the great success at Eastern with the best Homecoming weekend ever! Be sure to mark on your calendar that you will be heading back to La Grande for this one!
