Telecounselors

Telecounselors are an elite group that gather only in the night to find new Mountaineers.  They possess the unique characteristics as the fastest dialers on campus and know more information about EOU than the average EOU student.

Dorian

Year in school: Sophomore

Major: PHYS Health and Wellness

Graduating high school: Roosevelt High School, Portland, OR

Why choose EOU: Because the size of the school, the cost of attendance, diversity, and variety of programs offered to students.   There are many resources for the students, staff, and faculty. I have the great opportunity to get help from professors through one-on-one meetings or as a whole class.  Overall, I think EOU is the best fit for me.

Favorite memory of EOU: Being a part of the Navigators Club and having the chance to perform dances at shows and events; for instance, the Island Magic show and the Pow Wow.  Another favorite memory is traveling on a field trip to End Creek with my chemistry peers to do water sampling for our research project.

Rachael

Year in school: Junior

Major: Multidisciplinary Studies/Elementary Education

Graduating high school: Elgin High School, Elgin, OR

Why choose EOU: I chose EOU for many reasons. First, I really like how it is close to home. Second, I absolutely love how the faculty wants to get to know each student by first name and help them as much as they can.  This university is one of the few I visited that was friendly and gave me the feeling that they are here to serve and challenge me as a student and person.

Favorite memory of EOU: One of my favorite memories is during WOW week (Week of Welcome) .  During this week I met so many new students as well as make many more friends.  It is a week full of fun, friendship, and laughter.  This is a week no one should go without, being a part of here at EOU.

Allan

Year in school: Senior

Major: Business, Accounting

Graduating high school: Coast Redwood, Felton, CA

Why choose EOU: Coming from California, I saw EOU as an opportunity to transition into the next stage of my life of living in a new state.  Breaking free from normal routine of living at home was always a priority, an underlying importance for me to become an independent individual.  It all became clear EOU is the place for me, when the essentials cross with my passion to further compete as a collegiate athlete in both cross-country and track.

Favorite memory of EOU: Living in the dorms my freshmen year, and everything that came with it.
