International Student Admission Procedures

Completed International Application for Admission can be submitted by mail or online at:

  1. 300-500 word personal essay providing insight into your reasons for wanting to attend EOU and what you hope to gain by studying in the U.S.
  2. US $50 nonrefundable application fee.
    The fee must be in US currency by draft/check payable to Eastern Oregon University. The application fee will not be waived, deferred or returned. Applications will not be processed without payment. 
  3. Proof of English language proficiency.
    Official TOEFL or IELTS score reports should be sent directly to Eastern Oregon University from the Educational Testing Service, using school code #4300.  English Language School reports must be sent directly from the ELS Center. 
  4. Evidence of adequate financial resources for your studies at Eastern Oregon University.
    This must include an affidavit of support (pdf) signed by your sponsor certifying that he/she is prepared to pay for your education expenses for 4 years or the duration of intended stay. You must also include an official statement from the bank certifying that adequate financial resources in US dollars are available to meet your educational expenses for one year.
    A total of $18,688 (undergraduate) or $23,953 (graduate) is necessary for each year.  For a detailed list of current tuition and fees, see the Tuition and Fees Schedule.  The necessary documentation of proof of financial support is required prior to being admitted. Students must verify they have adequate funding for one year.  Please review the 2008-09 estimated expenses when completing financial verification paperwork.
  5. Official transcript(s)/academic record from every institute, college, university or post-secondary school attended.
    Transcript(s)/academic record(s) must be submitted in the original language as well as certified, literal English translation.
  6. Foreign transcript fee as required.
    All Eastern Oregon University applicants with foreign transcripts must submit an additional fee with the admission application materials to have transcripts evaluated by The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

  7. Copy of the identification page in your passport.

Applicants who are not United States citizens or immigrants will be considered for admission to EOU as international students.
