New Vice President for Finance and Administration Selected:

EOU is excited to announce that Lon Whitaker has been selected as the next Vice President for Finance and Administration. Lon will be joining the EOU team on July 25, 2011. He has extensive experience and is currently the Vice President of Business Affairs at Salish Kootenai College, a nationally recognized tribal college in Montana. At SKC, Lon excelled in budgeting and planning, information technology, auxiliary service planning, physical plant and equipment resources, and also oversaw many construction projects.

Through his employment at the tribal college, Lon gained considerable knowledge and background in grant accounting and working with many local, state and federal government agencies. He previously worked for the University of Montana Technical in Helena, the Montana Board of Investments and the Montana Legislative Audit Division. He holds an MBA from the University of Montana and his undergraduate degree is from Carroll College.

The mission of Finance & Administration is to provide services that support and enhance the University's ability to achieve its mission.  This is accomplished by providing fiscal leadership, safeguarding university assets (both financial and physical) and providing a safe, attractive and comfortable physical environment.  These services are delivered in a timely and efficient fashion to both internal and external customers.
