RULES - ADOPTION
On January 6, 1976, Eastern Oregon University adopted the following procedural rule in accordance with Oregon Laws 1975, Chapter 759,
Section 6, to provide a reasonable opportunity for interested persons to be notified of proposed actions.
- Notice of Proposed Rule. Prior to the adoption, amendment or repeal of any rule, except a temporary rule, Eastern Oregon University
shall give notice of the proposed adoption, amendment or repeal:
- In the Secretary of State's Bulletins referred to in Oregon Revised Statutes 183.360 at least 15 days prior to the effective date.
- By mailing a copy of the notice to persons on the Eastern Oregon University's mailing list established pursuant to Oregon Revised Statutes
183.335 (6).
- By mailing a copy of the notice and proposed rule to the Legislative Council and the Executive Department.
- By mailing a copy of the notice to the following publications:
- The La Grande Observer
- The Voice (Eastern student newspaper)
- Interested persons may submit their data, views or arguments concerning the proposed rule to the Vice President for Administration and
Finance, Eastern Oregon University, La Grande, Oregon 97850. In order to be considered, written comments must be received no later than 15
days after the notice is published in the Secretary of State's Bulletin.
- If an interested person wishes to express her or his data, views and arguments orally or in writing at a public hearing, she or he must make
written request for a public hearing and submit the request along with any written comments to the Vice President for Administration and Finance,
Eastern Oregon University, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
- A public hearing will be held by Eastern Oregon University on the proposed rule if the request for a public hearing is received within 15 days
after publication of the notice in the Bulletin of the Secretary of State from 10 persons or any organization having not less than 10 members. If
sufficient requests are received to hold a public hearing, all interested persons will be notified of the date and time of the hearing.
