CONDUCT OF CLASSES

  1. Classes are conducted for registered students or other recognized categories of students (i.e., adult, special, audit, or provisional). University policy requires that a student in a class has paid the necessary tuition and fees for classroom admission.

  2. The instructor is responsible for general adherence to the existing course description and syllabus in the conduct of a class.

  3. By one week after the first day of class, the instructor will make available to the students specific information about how final grades will be determined such as the proportion of points to be allocated for each criterion (tests, assignments, presentations, attendance, etc.). This information may be handed out in written form or made available on a web site accessible by students. Exceptional circumstances may occasionally lead instructors to adjust assignments or points. Changes such as these should be announced and clarified in class as soon as possible.

  4. The admission of guests and visitors to a classroom are covered in the Handbook section on opening a class to visitors.

  5. Special exceptions are granted for attendance in the Intact Program and other special programs.
